The Tank Museum, Bovington Dorset.

A week in Dorset over the Easter Holiday was  a great excuse to visit the Tank Museum at Bovinton. This turned out to be a great day out with examples of all types of armoured tanks spanning nearly a hundred years from the first MK1 tanks as used for the first time  in the trenches to up to date military campaign vehicles as used in Afghanistan. The museum halls are well lit and spacious and crammed full of interesting information regarding the history and development of these awesome vehicles.
In fact a two page advertisement in the ' Motor Cycle ' encouraged Motor Cyclists to enrol into the Army and become tank drivers and mechanics on account of a Motor Cyclists enthusiasm and aptitude for mechanics.

The Spring Run

Here we see some of the machines  out side the  ' National Motor Cycle Museum ' after taking part in a very enjoyable Sunday morning ride around the lanes of North Warwickshire. Well done Martyn Roberts for organising such an interesting and varied route.

The Spring Run

I think more than a few members were kicking themselves for not taking part in our first big run of the year, because as it turned out the morning remained dry and the route turned out to be a delight through the lanes of North Warwickshire.
Maybe it should have been called the ' Daffodil and Blossom Run ' because it was a perfect time of year for early blossom appearing  on trees  and grass verges awash with Daffodils in full bloom.
